This program will discuss how to design and implement legally sound diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that withstand scrutiny under the current legal landscape while meaningfully improving recruitment and retention. Drawing on the wave of executive orders, DOJ investigations, and recent court decisions — including the Students for Fair Admissions ruling and the EEOC's continued Title VII enforcement priorities — the course will map what has changed, what remains lawful, and where the boundaries now lie. Topics will include compliance-aware recruitment and retention strategies, the lawful use of employee resource groups and demographic data, the risks of both under- and over-correcting, and how to reframe DEI work so it survives legal and political challenge. A case study and a practical "litmus test" for program design will give attendees a framework they can apply immediately.

This program will benefit in-house counsel, employment attorneys, HR leaders, and compliance professionals who advise organizations on workplace programs, as well as litigators and general practitioners seeking a clear, current understanding of the federal rollback and its limits. No prior DEI experience is required.
