This course, presented by Wyatt Partners (a corporation that focuses exclusively on evaluating both legal spend and litigation settlements), addresses today’s hot topics on this timely issue – both from an in-house and outside counsel perspective. • The process for approval of the settlement (if judicial approval required)
• The potential for payment of attorneys’ fees/costs, the reasonableness of same, and factors to be considered when assessing the reasonableness
• Potential impact of insurance coverage on the settlement and navigation of interacting with insurers during the process
• Identifying, evaluating, and managing other variables that may impact the settlement, including enforcement-related issues.
The program will also specifically focus on applicable Rules of Professional Conduct and case law when valuing a settlement, as well as the wide foray of experience our speakers have gained serving as experts across the United States and internationally on the issue of settlements.
