This program examines the role of psychosocial evaluations in spousal abuse-based immigration petitions under VAWA. Participants will explore the dynamics of abuse, including cycles of control, victim psychology, and barriers to leaving abusive relationships.

The course also addresses how these factors impact immigration claims and how evaluations can support credibility and establish eligibility. Practical guidance is provided on identifying relevant evidence, conducting client interviews, and responding to RFEs or denials.

Attorneys will be better equipped to present strong, trauma-informed cases on behalf of vulnerable clients.
