This program will examine the process of filing a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The presentation will examine the client intake process to determine whether the mark can be protected in the first place. Attendees will be taken through the basics of a trademark filing. The purpose of the presentation is to enable non-IP practitioners to advise their clients as to whether they should pursue an application or rather go back to the drawing board and come up with a new mark.
