The presentation is geared to asset discovery and recovery techniques to trace, recover and obtain cryptocurrency. There will be a brief introduction demystifying cryptocurrencies, exploring key concepts and how cryptocurrency can be moved/exchanged/traded. We will discuss various actors (both good and bad) in the cryptocurrency world and various schemes and techniques used by fraudsters to obfuscate funds, hide transactions and frustrate tracing attempts. We will then discuss strategy, tactics and techniques to counter these actions to ultimately trace and recover the cryptocurrency as well as some recent decisions in which cryptocurrency assets were successfully located, frozen and/or recovered.
