Click here to find out moreOn August 15, 2013, the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Civil Rules proposed amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The proposed changes include efforts to reduce the costs of document preservation and production and include deliberate attempts to distinguish certain concepts (e.g., document loss v. spoliation, curative measures v. sanctions) and clarify other concepts (e.g., scope of discovery). These amendments remain open to public comment until February 15, 2014 and, if accepted, will not go into effect until December 2015.
