This program discusses the effect the coronavirus outbreak has had on courts and litigators—from court closures to mandatory quarantines to the indefinite prohibition of even electronic filing of papers—and how aggressive attorneys seeking to move their cases forward during this time can deal with these challenges. Specifically, we will discuss how to communicate with courts that are closed to all but “essential matters; how to deal with adversaries and litigants seeking to take advantage of the current situation for strategic gain; alternatives to in-person hearings, conferences, and depositions; and basic technology you should become familiar with to enable you to litigate in a virtual environment.
