Expert testimony is widely used as supporting evidence in immigration cases, including in immigration court as a means to better advocate and explain various issues and nuances in the client's case. The forensic expert who has undertaken a psychosocial evaluation focusing on mental health issues, family dynamics, safety issues, and other core areas of investigation will have the opportunity to better inform the court and prosecutor about the client's background and particular situation.

  2. Understand how expert forensic witnesses can assist in advocating and/or explaining central issues
  3. Cite specific instances where testimony assists in the advocacy process
