The rise of cyber threats in today's digital age has exposed businesses to potential legal and regulatory risks. Although IT departments have been assigned budgets to manage organizational and customer data, IT professionals often lack the required expertise to address legal and regulatory risks. To mitigate these risks, businesses should establish a diverse tech and data team led by a dedicated Assistant General Counsel for IT (AGC).

In this webinar participants will learn how to structure a designated tech and data team and how best to position the team to protect the organization’s data and address potential regulatory risks. Participants will also learn how to develop the role and responsibilities of the AGC in establishing policies and procedures that protect sensitive data while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Participants will also develop an understanding of how to develop an organization’s governance model, and how to establish controls to mitigate legal and regulatory risks associated with privacy, data security, vendor management, eDiscovery, record retention, and technology.
