The Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (“UIFSA) determines which state hears a support action and which state can enforce a support action. UIFSA can also be helpful as it requires states to work together for the purpose of facilitating family support matters. Enforcement addresses not only the payors responsibility, but also the employers responsibility. Learn how states must work together, which state will hear an action, whether or not a case can be conferenced across stateliness, and how to register an order with another state.
