This program will explore the overlapping legal frameworks that apply to business and human rights, and how companies can adopt best practices to promote and support human rights in their supply chains. With the upcoming 10th anniversary of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, CSR and human rights is an issue of increasing focus and emphasis worldwide. The UN has launched a new project to expand implementation of the principles in the next decade, and many jurisdictions – including the Biden administration in the United States - are already adopting human rights-related legislation based on these principles. Against this patchwork of laws and policies that companies should consider, the speakers will describe best practices to strengthen human rights and corporate social responsibility in supply chains.
