The course will begin by describing what Agentic AI is and how it differs from Generative AI; how it is being used in different practice areas, including corporate transactions, intellectual property and criminal justice, and different institutional contexts, including private and in-house practice, the judiciary, the executive and the legislative branch; where we are on the adoption curve and the differences in rates of adoption in different practice and institutional areas and the consequences of these differences; how firms and practices of different sizes, including very small law firms ("VSLFs") and solo practices, can adopt agentic ai; and the risks and specific legal issues, including of course privacy and ethics, but also antitrust, contracts and product liability, among other areas, that accompany agentic ai.
