New York State’s 2022 budget made significant amendments to the state’s Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP), which has been a significant driver of environmental remediation and site redevelopment in New York State for the past 20 years. The amendments include a 10-year extension of the eligibility for sites to qualify for tax credits, extensions of deadlines for claiming those credits, and additional tax incentives for sites in disadvantaged communities and renewable energy sites.

In this program, BCP practitioners David J. Freeman, Lawrence P. Schnapf, and Matthew J. Sinkman will analyze the 2022 amendments and how they will affect site owners, developers, community groups and others interested cleaning up sites under BCP.
