Mr. Hnath has litigated over 50 cases under Section 337 at the U.S. International Trade Commission, one of the most important venues for enforcing intellectual property rights and combatting other forms of unfair imports.
Mr. Hnath is a former Senior Trial Attorney with the ITC‘s Office of Unfair Import Investigations, past President of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association, past Chair of the ITC Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and current chair of the ITC committee of the IP Section of the American Bar Association. Mr. Hnath has represented both complainants and respondents in Section 337 investigations, including many high-profile cases at the ITC. He has also lectured widely around the world on the topic of Section 337 litigation at the ITC. Mr. Hnath is the author of numerous publications on this topic and a co-editor of the ABA treatise, “A Lawyer’s Guide to Section 337 Investigations Before the U.S. International Trade Commission.”
Mr. Hnath’s practice spans a variety of intellectual property litigations for clients, in Federal District Court as well as the U.S. International Trade Commission. Mr. Hnath received undergraduate degrees in psychology and philosophy from Michigan State University and his law degree from Harvard Law School.
