This presentation is designed to assist brands, charities and marketers and their counsel execute legally-compliant cause marketing campaigns with a particular emphasis on the laws involving commercial co-ventures (or charitable sales promotions). We will review the basics from identifying a commercial co-venture, state registration, mandatory contractual provisions, ad disclosures and reporting requirements. You will also learn about the newly-enacted California “Supervision of Trustees and Fundraisers for Charitable Purposes Act” which becomes effective January 1, 2023 and significantly changes registration, contractual and disclosure requirements for many online charitable promotions.
