Peter  Scoolidge, Esq.

Peter handles disputes and transactions with a focus on intellectual property, technology, finance, and entertainment. His practice is on the front lines of technology-based legal disputes, including serving as lead defense counsel in a $170 million securities class action against a leading cryptocurrency development group. Peter is regularly sought out by developers of finance-related software and financial services companies to advise on novel business strategies.

Peter has successfully handled an array of high-value disputes involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, employment issues, contracts, First Amendment issues, software implementation, domain names, music and visual arts copyrights, and closely-held companies. At a prior firm, he was part of a team that won two defense verdicts in the same year in patent infringement jury trials in Texas worth over $100 million. He regularly guides clients in emerging industries through situations fraught with legal uncertainty.

Peter has been quoted by Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Billboard, the New York Daily News, and the New York Post on intellectual property and other legal issues.

Peter is a former law clerk for the Honorable Roslynn R. Mauskopf of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and began his career at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP. Peter has appeared in federal jury trials and has argued numerous motions in federal court, including injunctive relief proceedings and Markman. Prior to founding Scoolidge Peters Russotti & Fox LLP, Peter helped establish a national IP boutique where he handled cases against technology companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Dell, Canon, and HP.
