Judith  Mogul, Esq.

Judith L. Mogul handles civil, regulatory, and criminal matters for individual and corporate clients. Judy regularly represents individuals and companies in a broad variety of commercial matters involving employment, partnership, contract, unfair competition, insurance, and other disputes. She has extensive experience defending individuals in internal investigations, securities class actions and related regulatory proceedings. Judy has also defended complex forfeiture claims in a variety of contexts. She appears regularly in state and federal court.

Most recently, Judy was honored with a Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing. Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business named Judy a leading lawyer in the area of Litigation: General Commercial. The Legal 500 United States has recognized her in the areas of Securities Litigation and White Collar Criminal Defense. Benchmark Litigation: The Definitive Guide to America’s Leading Litigation Firms & Attorneys has recognized Judy as a “Litigation Star” in the area of General Commercial Litigation and has commended her for her “preparedness and understanding of countless details.” She is also listed in Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers and has been named to its Top 50 Women list.

Judy clerked for the Honorable José A. Cabranes, when he sat on the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, and served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York (Civil Division). She has been a partner at the firm since 2008.

Judy is co-author of the treatise Civil Practice in the Southern District of New York, 2d. Ed. (Thomson Reuters 2017), as well as of a regular column on federal civil practice in the Southern District of New York for the New York Law Journal.

She is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Access to Justice, a non-partisan law and policy organization dedicated to achieving reform on behalf of vulnerable people in the civil and criminal justice systems, and a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Judy is also a member of the Board of Directors at the Glynwood Center, an organization dedicated to promoting farming in the Hudson Valley.
