2. What Types of Information Does Celesq Collect, And How Is It Collected
[The following sections will tell you how and when we collect information from you.]
Celesq's objective is to be the destination portal of choice for professionals requiring education by providing you with information and educational services and resources that are most relevant to you. To help us achieve this goal, we collect and use certain information to help us understand what differentiates you from other visitors to our Website, to send you information, and to help us provide additional or unproved products and services. The information we collect may be characterized as either "personally identifiable information" or "anonymous information".
A. Collection and Use of Personally Identifiable Information
When you register for courses on this Website, you will be required to provide us with personally identifiable information, including your full name, date of birth, e-mail address, postal address, your profession, memberships in professional organizations, admission dates, license or membership number, credit card number and expiration date, social security number, and other data. Once you have registered, you are no longer anonymous to us. You will also be required to select a user name and password. We use this information in several ways: (a) verification; (b) to fulfill your requests for products and services; (c) to bill you for the courses or other services or products you have requested; (d) to tell you about new features, products or services available on this Website; (e) to display advertisements or announcements that may be of interest to you; (f) to conduct surveys; (g) to share your information with select third parties who work with us, if you give us permission to share that information with such third parties, as will be explained below; (h) to better prepare future course content based on the interests of our users; and (i) to send out electronic newsletters and enable you to participate in polls, surveys, contests, message boards, and similar activities. We maintain a "no spam" policy which means that we do not intend to sell, rent, or otherwise give your e-mail address to a third party without your consent.
During the registration process, you must give us true, accurate and complete information about yourself, and must promptly update that information when it changes. If any information you provide is not accurate, or if you do not update the information as required, we may suspend or terminate your use of this Website, or any feature, course or service offered on this Website.
B. Will Celesq Disclose To Third Parties Personally Identifiable Information It Collects?
At Celesq we generally use information we collect from visitors to our Website to tailor the content of this Website to suit your needs, and to help our advertisers understand our audience's demographics. We do not generally share personally identifiable information with third parties. However, we may make registration records and log files available on a confidential basis to third-party auditors and to select measurement and analysis firms. We may also release or disclose personally identifiable information under the following circumstances:
(i) to respond to subpoenas, court orders or other legal process;
(ii) to enforce the Terms and Conditions of Use, or any Legal Notice, or otherwise to protect and defend the rights, property or safety of Celesq or others;
(iii) to cooperate with the investigation of possible unlawful activities;
(iv) when we have your consent to do so;
(v) to CLE accrediting agencies, such as bar associations or entities which assist in CLE credit processing;
(vi) when we otherwise need to share the information to provide a product or service you have requested.
We may also use information we collect to notify you about important changes to this Website, new services offered on this Website or special offers we think you will find valuable. If you would rather not receive information about new services or special offers, please let us know by contacting us at info@Celesq.com. Make sure that you do so for each account or e-mail address you have registered with us.
C. Account Information and Password Protection
When you register with us you will be issued a user ID and a password with which to access your account with us and the courses you have selected. You must keep this information strictly confidential at all times. You are responsible for any activity which occurs under your account or password. You must log off of this Website at the end of each session in order to prevent fraud on your account by third parties. If for any reason you believe there has been unauthorized use of your account or password, you must immediately notify us and cooperate with us to resolve the situation. If you do not comply with the terms of this section, we may suspend or terminate your use of this Website or any courses or other services offered on this Website.
Celesq uses reasonable precautions to keep personally identifiable information disclosed to us secure. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of information or data will not occur, we use reasonable efforts to prevent such occurrences. Celesq is not responsible for any breach of security or for any actions of third parties which receive personally identifiable information or anonymous information.
Encryption technology is used to ensure that your transmitted credit card data is secure. Any time you provide us with an account number, password, credit card information, we encrypt it using securing socket layer (SSL) technology. To support this technology, you need to have a SSL capable browser. Netscape Navigator 4.0 or higher, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher and AOL 4.0 for windows are all SSL capable and will activate it automatically when you sign on to your account. You can tell if you are on a secure site by looking at the symbol at the bottom of your browser screen. If you are using Netscape Navigator, the symbol is a key; if using Microsoft Internet Explorer it is a lock. If the symbol is unbroken, you are using a secure server. If you need any of the browsers mentioned above, we recommend downloading either Netscape Navigator 4.0 or higher, or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. We do not recommend use of data browser versions.
E. Anonymous Information
We may gather anonymous information about visitors to our Website even if they have not registered with us. We may use or share this information with third parties. Anonymous information may be helpful in personalizing your experience on this Website, to show you more relevant advertising and generally in improving products or services we offer. Anonymous information is generally collected through traffic data, and may involve use of "cookies," IP addresses or other codes used to identify a computer.
G. IP Addresses
Each computer connected to the Internet is given a domain name, as well as a set of numbers which serve as that computer's "Internet protocol" or IP address. When a visitor requests a page from this Website, our Web servers automatically recognize the visitor's domain name and IP address. The domain name and IP address do not reveal anything of a personal nature about you, other than the IP address from which you have accessed this Website. We use this information to examine our traffic in the aggregate, for systems administration, for troubleshooting, to report anonymous information, demographics and traffic patterns to advertisers and business associates, and to audit use of this Website. We may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns and related site information to third party vendors, however, these statistics will not include any personally identifiable information. Under certain circumstances, IP addresses or domain names may be linked to personally identifiable information when that information is stored in databases managed by Internet registrars or registries. We reserve the right to use IP addresses or domain names to identify users of, or visitors to, our Website when we believe it necessary to enforce compliance with any of the Terms and Conditions of Use or Legal Notice; to protect or defend the rights, property or safety of Celesq or others; to cooperate with the investigation of possible unlawful activities; to comply with applicable law; or to respond to subpoenas, court orders or other legal process.
H. Transfer of Information
Celesq reserves the right to transfer any information, whether personally identifiable information or anonymous information, in connection with the sale of all or part of Celesq's capital stock or assets. Celesq is not responsible for any breach of security or for any action of third parties which receive personally identifiable information or anonymous information.
This Website may contain links to or from other Websites, Celesq is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any other Websites. We do not share any personally identifiable information you provide to us with third party sites to which this Website links, although we may share anonymous data with such Websites (such as how many people use this Website). Please check with those sites to determine their respective privacy policies. Please also keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose information online, whether through e-mail, discussion lists, or otherwise, that information can be collected and used by others. Thus, if you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
[We may share data collected about registrants with third parties whose products or services we believe may be of interest to you. If you prefer not to receive commercial materials from companies other than Celesq, please contact us at info@Celesq.com.]
