IPR theft in international trade is on the rise, with adverse consequences for workers, importers, consumers, right holders, and states. Against this backdrop, CBP has, in collaboration with partner government agencies and industry, stepped up its efforts to improve compliance tools, provide protective solutions, and enhance enforcement capabilities. This posture is evident in CBP’s identification of IPR theft as a “Priority Trade Issue” at the same time, agencies in other countries are also paying increasing attention to IPR theft and its prevention.
This CLE program will enable participants to understand the IPR risks that can arise in the international trade environment and develop U.S- and/or foreign-focused strategies to protect their interests.
