Description
This program reviews what attorneys should know about forms of business insurance that may potentially apply to claims arising from the coronavirus pandemic. We will review parameters of insuring agreements and exclusions, arguments for and against coverage for coronavirus-related claims, emerging issues in coverage disputes, and recent legislative initiatives.

Eric Reed has a diverse litigation practice in which he represents manufacturers, financial service providers, biotech companies and others in a wide variety of matters including breach of contract, fiduciary duty, trade secret, product liability and contract disputes. His clients range from large publicly traded companies to small businesses, and the directors, officers, owners and employees of those companies. Pragmatic and objective, Eric is adept at crafting practical, business-minded litigation strategies that prioritize his clients’ interests. When protecting those interests requires an aggressive approach, he is a tenacious advocate inside and outside the courtroom. Eric also conducts internal investigations, both in response to government actions and as part of clients’ proactive risk assessment strategies. Such investigations have addressed complex financial and securities fraud schemes, False Claims Act matters, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, self-dealing and fiduciary duty violations, insider trading, regulatory violations and a variety of other matters. In addition, Eric defends businesses and individuals in both regulatory proceedings and in white-collar criminal cases, drawing on a deep familiarity with the regulatory apparatus and the government entities that implement and enforce it. |
