Federal appellate courts are accustomed to, and expect, a high standard of practice. In this program, Sean SeLegue and Simona Agnolucci of Arnold & Porter LLP provide tips, strategies and the legal framework every lawyer handling a federal appeal should understand.

Ms. Agnolucci’s practice focuses on appellate law and securities and financial services litigation. She is a member of the firm's Recruiting Committee and also has served on its Summer Program Committee. Before joining Howard Rice, Ms. Agnolucci was a law clerk to the Honorable William C. Canby, Jr. of United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. She also served as an extern to the Honorable John T. Noonan, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and to the Honorable J. Anthony Kline of the California Court of Appeal. Ms. Agnolucci is the chairwoman of the Amicus Briefs Committee of the Queen's Bench Bar Association and a member of the Associates Advisory Board of the Public Interest Clearinghouse. |

Sean M. SeLegue, Esq. is a partner at Arnold & Porter LLP, which recently combined with Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin, P.C., and a member of Attorney Liability and Appellate Practice Groups. A former chair of the State Bar of California's Committee on Professional Responsibility and conduct, Mr. SeLegue has deep knowledge of the law governing lawyers as well as extensive experience in trial and appellate court matters involving attorneys. His wide-ranging appellate practice, which encompasses the full range of business and other civil disputes, has earned him a listing in the prestigious Chambers USA's "Americas Leading Lawyers for Business" directory as one of only 15 individual attorneys in the "California Appellate" category. He is certified as an appellate specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Since serving as law clerk at the Ninth Circuit, Mr. SeLegue has successfully argued cases in the California Supreme Court, the California Courts of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit. Mr. SeLegue regularly lectures and writes on professional responsibility and appellate practice issues. |
