Federal trial litigators must be ever vigilant in planning for possible appeals and preserving their clients’ rights to bring those appeals. Sean SeLegue and Sean Callagy of Arnold & Porter LLP discuss avoiding waiver of issues on appeal and situations in which there is an opportunity for an early appeal or a requirement to bring such an appeal or waive it.

Prior to joining Howard Rice, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Harold R. DeMoss, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Houston, Texas. Before that, Mr. Callagy clerked for the Honorable Micaela Alvarez of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Prior to law school, Mr. Callagy was a Fulbright Fellow in Hamburg, Germany.
