Bernadette M. Broccolo, Esq. is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP, based in its Chicago office. A member of the Health Law Department, she also currently serves as chair of the Life Sciences Steering Committee of the firm's Health Law Department, and she advises clients on leading edge health industry relationship formation and realignments; health information technology acquisitions and electronic health information networks; conflict of interest compliance; comprehensive programs for human subject, animal and bench research; and overall corporate compliance programs. Ms. Broccolo is a frequent speaker and author on topics in her areas of practice, and a co-author of Tax-Exempt Status of Health Care Organizations (part of BNA’s Health Law & Business Series). She also serves in leadership positions for organizations serving the health industry and the legal profession, including the American Health Lawyers Association, the Illinois Association of Hospital Attorneys and the American Bar Association. Most recently, she served as a member of the Governing Council of the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section and as the Chair of the Health Law Section’s Tax & Accounting Interest Group. Among her other honors, she has been named as a Fellow of the American Health Lawyers Association and selected by her peers to be included in the 2009 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for her expertise in health care law. |
